What is Metacognition?

In psychology, metacognition is “cognition about cognition.” In other words, it involves mental activity on one’s own mental processes—thinking about one’s own thoughts.

It encompasses:
1. Conscious introspective knowledge an individual has of their own states and cognitive processes.
2. Abilities to deliberately control and plan their own cognitive processes to achieve a specific goal or objective.

Thus, metacognition refers to the ability to reflect on one’s own cognitive processes—becoming aware of and controlling thoughts, knowledge, learning strategies, and problem-solving globally or specifically.

What is Intuitive Metacognition (IMC)?

INTUITIO LAB has developed an intuitive analysis method called Intuitive Metacognition (IMC). It confronts and integrates intuitive faculties with classical metacognition, allowing you to expand, accelerate knowledge acquisition, and optimize analyses and choices.

Applied to a given issue, IMC provides an effective analysis grid to empirically and rationally investigate and discern from one or more feelings within that context.

More broadly in daily life, IMC opens new doors of perception and keys to understanding your immediate environment, the global world, and beyond.

Advantages of IMC

With IMC, the practitioner gains superior cognition where rational knowledge acquisition is confronted and filtered by personal intuitive feelings—and vice versa. This interaction between the practitioner’s inner psyche, accumulated life knowledge, and information from the collective unconscious confers:

Better world perception: New domains, often hidden by academic knowledge and dogma, are illuminated, made conscious, rationalized, and integrated.

Better world understanding: Expanded cognitive spectrum provides new data enriching cognition and global comprehension.

Greater anticipation: With IMC, the practitioner develops a more rational relationship with the world where common sense prevails, granting valuable anticipation and prediction abilities.

Greater freedom: With IMC, the practitioner reclaims acquired knowledge and integrates it per personal feelings—expanding action scope, free will, judgment, and decision-making freedom in good conscience.

Greater distance from studied issues, increasing your Emotional Quotient and enabling cool-headed analysis with necessary temperance for accurate diagnosis.

Greater serenity: With IMC, a reliable anchor establishes in your psyche. Balance builds, natural interactivity forms between unconscious feelings and conscious information—creating harmony, well-being, fulfilling deep aspirations, and optimizing life choices.

Risks of Intuitive Metacognition

Everything has a downside in this world, and IMC is no exception. Its considerable benefits come with risks matching the stakes:

Confirmation bias is the highest risk in IMC: The subject must constantly rationalize feelings, share/confront them with common sense and other views—to avoid isolation or false paths. Just as intuition links to the collective unconscious, rational analysis must connect to the real world. Seek trusted advice, consult AI or social media to contextualize intuitive analyses—then decide freely.

Significant cognitive gap may form between the subject and surroundings: Elements obvious to IMC practitioners are barely perceptible to average people, leading to mutual misunderstanding and social disconnect. IMC experts must understand and accept this gap in social relations.

Separatism can tempt: The subject must remember belonging to a broader world lacking full understanding keys, interacting daily. Stay humble, empathetic, benevolent—while determined and confident.

Mistrust and jealousy may stigmatize an IMC developer: When surroundings don’t understand, mistrust arises—natural for the unknown/unmastered. If the practitioner succeeds better, happier, more fulfilled—this can spark jealousy. Anticipate to reduce tensions and avoid attracting ill will.

Social discrimination and witch hunts: Broadly, IMC practitioners’ thought freedom and superior cognition may alarm elites, leading to social discrimination or hunts. The System needs homogeneous, docile, formatted individuals—IMC experts no longer fit. Stay prudent, anticipate tensions to avoid stigma/discrimination.

In Summary

By consciously incorporating intuition into knowledge acquisition and accumulation, you accelerate and expand cognition, perception, and global understanding capacities.

You gain better control of feelings: Developing meta-reasoning lets you monitor your inferences. Take sufficient distance from studied subjects to improve your Emotional Quotient.

Applied to personal/professional issues, IMC helps perceive, analyze, and resolve them more easily/deeply.

Applied throughout life, IMC provides superior cognitive, decision-making, predictive tool—altering choices, durably transforming your world relationship, reaching new goals, and re-enchanting your life.
