A beloved Colombian pop star and members of his team died in a fiery plane crash just before a scheduled show on Saturday — after he had openly revealed a series of haunting dreams in which he predicted his aircraft would kill him.

Yeison Jiménez, 34, was en route to a concert in Medellín (Colombia’s second-largest city) when the small private plane (a Piper PA-31 Navajo) carrying him and five others crashed and burst into flames shortly after takeoff from a small airfield in Paipa, central Colombia, according to reports from El Colombiano and Colombia’s Civil Aeronautics Authority.

The five others killed included his manager Jefferson Osorio, assistant/photographer Weisman Mora, Juan Manuel Rodríguez, Óscar Marín, and pilot Captain Hernando Torres (some sources list slight name variations, but these are the confirmed victims).

His full band/musicians were reportedly already at the venue waiting, though some headlines refer to the group broadly as “his band” or “team.”

Maybe the singer didn’t listen enough to his intuition?

But it’s hard to build a singing career in Colombia without using planes to travel quickly and easily…RIP and deepest thoughts to the loved ones of the victims and to their grieving families. 💔
